'Al-Mughni is the One Who by His grace and kindness enriches anyone whom He likes.'
To emulate the name we are advised to use our wealth and influence for the benefit of the people at large.

Some other references:
O ye who believe! Truly The Pagans are unclean So let them not, After this year of theirs, Approach the Sacred Mosque. And if ye fear poverty, Soon will Allah enrich you. If He wills, out of His bounty, For Allah is All-Knowing, All Wise.
Al-Ghazali says that :-
"But for the fact that it is conceivable that one could become free from everything, but God, it would not be correct to ascribe to God most high the attribute of enricher."
(Al-Ghazali - The Ninety-nine Beautiful Names of God. Trans. Burrel/Daher: ITS: 1992.)
The spiritual poverty sought by the Sufis is relevant here. An empty vessel is one that is capable to be filled. The Sufis seek to be empty of self to be able to receive the constant flow of grace that enriches the soul. This has its counterpart in the natural laws. In physics it is said that 'nature abhors a vacuum'.
