According to Dr Sharib:

"Al-Mu'id is the One Who will bring to life the dead after their expiry."

To emulate the name we are advised to take to a new birth by taking to a
spiritual life.

Appropriate recitation:
- helps to recollect the past things - removes stupor and perturbation of the
mind and the state of wonder and amazement, and seeks to lead and to guide.

Some other references:

It is He Who creates
From the very beginning
And He can restore (life).

Al-Ghazali links this name with Al-Mubdi' (the Beginner). When something that
is originated is preceded by something like it, it is called restoration. He says
that God is the One Who will restore mankind by gathering them at the day of
Judgement.

(Al-Ghazali - The Ninety-nine Beautiful Names of God. Trans. Burrel/Daher: ITS: 1992.)

During sleep God withdraws consciousness from the body of man and draws it
to where his soul permanently resides with Him. In the ones He wishes to keep
with Him He keeps the spark of consciousness from returning. He restores the
spark of consciousness of the remainder to the bodies. This is described by
Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi. Some say we should think therefore of each new day
as new life to be rounded off by a 'little death'. Each new day presents its own
unique opportunities.
