According to Dr Sharib:

"Ar-Rashid is the One Who guides all the people and whose planning
comes into force without anybody guiding Him."

We advised to emulate the name by taking people out from bad or
abject living and showing them the path of righteousness - persuading
them to observe the do's and don'ts.

Appropriate recitation in the correct circumstances has the following
effects:

1. Allah provides the means of salvation.
2. You get to know the solution to your problems through a dream or
intuition.
3. Difficulties are solved and one's affairs improve considerably.

They said: "Oh Shu'aib!
Does thy prayer
Command thee that we
Leave off the worship which
Our fathers practised, or
That we leave off doing
What we like with our property?
Truly thou art the one
That forbeareth with faults
And is right-minded"

Al-Ghazali says;

"Al-Rashid - the Right in Guidance - is the one whose plans are ordered
to their goals according to approved ways of acting without any
indication of an advisor or the directions of a director or the guidance of
a guide. And He is God - may He be praised and exalted. Every man is
rightly guided in the measure that he is directed by right reason in the
plans he makes to assimilate himself to God with regard to his
intentions, his religious duties, and his worldly affairs."

Amongst the Sufis guidance by a qualified guide is the cornerstone. The
guide not only provides attention to the specific and individual needs of
his disciple, he also provides and models a framework of moral
principles. Nevertheless it is also said like this amongst the Sufis - 'God
is the guide'.
