The proper course is for you to sit at the feet of the imams and listen to them propounding novel ideas. You should attend to what they have to say patiently, uttering not a word. Then you will know those problems better than they. Recognising the good sense of what Abu Hanifa said, Dawud resumed his studies. For a year he sat at the feet of the imam, never opening his mouth and accepting their pronouncements with patience, being content to simply listen and not to reply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
